Bankruptcy Policy

A student may use the Academic Bankruptcy Petition Form to request a retroactive withdrawal from an entire semester. With the assistance of an academic advisor, a student may retrieve the Academic Bankruptcy petition, complete the form, and get the academic advisor's signature. The Provost & Vice President for Academic Affairs must receive the petition no later than one year after the end of the applicable semester. Following the instructions on the petition form, the student must demonstrate unusual circumstances beyond the student's control during the semester in question, and submit relevant supporting documentation and a copy of the student's transcript The decision of the Bankruptcy Committee and the Provost are final. A student may receive a bankruptcy withdrawal only once during matriculation at Stillman College.
