Description of Program

The Stillman College Certificate in Theology (SCCT) is designed to provide a top-rate, continuing education opportunity for individuals who are serving in pastoral ministry, licensed ministers working within the local church, or laypersons who are serious about Christian theological education. As such, it is not a degree or credential granting program, but a service to individuals interested in the learning experience and the benefits of access to content specialists in the disciplines of biblical studies, theology, and church administration. This learning opportunity does not award transferable academic credit.

This is a 5–12-month opportunity in which participants complete eight (8) courses to receive a certificate of participation. The courses are offered in sessions of six (6) weeks through online delivery. Participants should have high-speed internet and a reliable computer with a webcam to access course materials and assignments.

Program Objectives

The program is designed to:

  1. Provide active ministers with continuing education opportunities.
  2. Enhance ministers' exposure to skills and best practices in Bible Study,  Theology, and Administration.
  3. Provide church workers with personal learning opportunities.

Student Learning Outcomes:

Those who complete the program will demonstrate:

  1. Basic understanding of biblical exegesis and hermeneutics.
  2. Theological reasoning and application of their theology as Christian educators.
  3. Awareness of personal and professional identity in a ministerial capacity.
